The Birth of Color

BLUE-SKINNED KRISHNA WORRIED IF THE FAIR RADHE WOULD LIKE HIM DESPITE HIS SKIN COLOR. HIS MOTHER URGED HIM TO COLOR HER FACE TO FIND OUT. HE DID SO, AND SHE FELL IN LOVE WITH HIM.

THE LEGEND OF RADHE’S FACE GETTING COLORED IS COMMEMORATED IN INDIA AS THE FESTIVAL OF HOLI.

On the day of Holi itself, the epicenter of the religious observance is in the temple of Bankey Bihari, the holiest of Krishna temples in India. It is absolute pandemonium, with thousands of devotees crammed in the temple’s small courtyard, attempting to view and worship the deity.
